My Posts Will Be Lacking !! ..... and Music Motivator Song Of The Week

I apologize for the lack of posts this week and for the weeks to come.  I am working on a step-by-step Tutorial on the painting of my Wolves, and it is taking a bit longer to finish them than expected.  I want the tutorial to show them from start to finish, so I will do my best to get them done quickly.  I will try to post some other hobby related things until I am finished.  On to my Song Of The Week!

I have been watching Van Wilder the last couple nights and it put me in a Sugarcult mood today.  I listened to them all day at work, had to have drove the guys a bit crazy.  I am now passing the madness on to you all as well.  I hope you all enjoy "Memory" by Sugarcult.

Music Is My Motivator... Song of the Week

I wanted to go with another older song this week.  "All That I've Got" by The Used had come out at a crucial time in my life.  I was in the first place that felt like my own home, and I had just reached a new pinnacle in my painting quality. It was the first milestone of my adult life, for that reason this song has had a special place in my heart.  I had spent many nights perfecting my painting skills to this album, and I hope you all like the song choice.

FINISHED!!!!

The first Pack of my Wolves is officially finished.  I am very pleased with the result, and I can't wait to add to the rest of the army.  I was going to continue on to my Thunderwolves, but I am going to hold off on that until I get my hands on that new Liquid Green Stuff.  I decided instead to work on my Pack of Long Fangs.  I will try to do my best at posting tutorial style pics of the progress of this new Pack.  I would love fir you all to see the process of my style, and I would also like to pass on my techniques.

Here are some pictures of the finished Pack:

Thank you all for tuning in, and be sure to check in tomorrow afternoon for the new music is my motivator song of the week.  Until then, Thank you for tuning in.

It Is Done!!!

I finished the Pack Last night!  I am waiting for the Dull Coat to dry on the last model, so I will have the group shot up tomorrow evening.  This last model gave me the chance to add a bit more water effects to the base and I really like the way it looks.  There are a couple of other models in the other packs that I will definitely be going heavy on the water effects.  For some reason my camera was acting up so some of the pictures have a bit of a yellow tint to them, sorry about that.

Here are some shots of the newest member:

I am going to work on my Thunderwolf conversions next so there will be plenty of WIP shots to come.  When I paint the next Pack I will do some tutorial type shots so you can all see the entire process.  This Pack was done to test the efficiency of the assembly line process, and I definitely need to work out some kinks to speed the process up.  I won't skimp on detail though, I won't give up detail for speed.  A little extra TLC goes a LONG way.

Music Is My Motivator... Song of the Week .... DOUBLE FEATURE!!

Well after much debate I decided to go with two "Songs of the Week" this week.
The first one is "Hey Jealousy" by the Gin Blossoms.  I had my TV tuned to VH1 the other night during 120 Minutes and they were playing nothing but 90's music.  It was absolutely awesome!  I wanted to post one of my favorite songs by one of the many talented local bands to come out of our state of Arizona.  I have always loved this song, and it has hit pretty close to home in some situations.  I hope you all enjoy a taste from 90's rock.

I also have been hearing this song on the radio every time I get in the car, and I secretly (well not so secretly now) love it.  I have always liked The Gym Class Heroes, but I'm not a big Maroon Five fan, either way this song is pretty friggin' cool.  I wanted to post it for you all, hopefully some of you find it fun.

Hope you all have a great and safe weekend, I will be posting more hobby progress on Monday.

Thanks for tuning in, and .... GO CARDS!!!!!!!

And we have another completion !!

I have completed one more ferocious warrior of Erik's Vlka Fenryka.  I paint the whole pack in an assembly line fashion, until the final highlight on the armor and basing.  I like to paint the final armor highlight and then base the models one at a time so I can spray the Dull Coat sealer on them right away.  This gives me the assurance that my paint job will be safe, and the model really comes to life when the sealer dries, I like to see that happen with each individual model.
Here is the latest addition to Erik Morkai's Great Company:

Here are some more shots

This army is coming along very well.  I will try to step up the progress, but I do have two jobs and try to find the time to paint in between the two.   I will try to get it moving along faster though, I hope you all are enjoying it so far.  I am also stuck on which song I am going to post for my Song Of The Week in the morning.  I am listening to a few that I heard this week right now, be on the look out for that one to post in the afternoon.
As always, thanks for tuning in, and I will try to keep things updated frequently.  Feel free to send feedback via comments or email, both would be appreciated very much.

One More Model Closer ....

I have been swamped once again and have had hardly any hobby time.  I did finish one more Grey Hunter the other night though, and I can't wait to finish the whole army.  I am going to try and hit this unit and the rest of the army hard this week, hopefully I will get some good progress by the end of the weekend.  Here are some shots of the newest member of the Pack.

I wanted the meltagun to look like it has been used quite a bit.  I painted the muzzle boltgun metal then I washed it in rings as follows: Gryphonne Sephia, Baal Red, Asurumen Blue, then Badab Black.  I then added a highlight of Chainmail to the back of the muzzle.  I am pleased with the result.  I also added a little icicle to this base, it was pretty easy to pull off.  You just pour a small amount of Woodland Scenic's Water Effects onto a piece of Wax paper then drag parts of it away with a toothpick, then let it dry.  You then peel them off the paper and adhere them with a small amount of Water Effects, the result is pretty awesome.  I will have more pics up soon so stay tuned.

Music Is My Motivator... Song of the Week

Sorry I had to post this so late in the day.  The Song of the Week this week is "Bulletproof" by Five Finger Death Punch.  I wanted to go with some heavy battle music this week, and this one seemed to fit my Wolves pretty well.  I could see this song playing in the background of an epic war scene where some Space Wolves were tearing things up, putting some hurt on a hated foe.  I hope you all like it, and stay tuned for more progress on my Wolves.

Almost Finished

So I am at the final stages of finishing my first Pack of Grey Hunters.  I found that I did a lot of things backwards when painting them in an assembly line, and it cost me a lot time.  I will be changing that on the next round.  I am doing all the final highlights, details, and basing on each of them individually at this point.  I prefer to do it this way so I can Dull Coat them as soon as they are finished.
Here is a pic of the first modelof the completed Pack:

I am more than pleased with the outcome.  I am going to try to knock the rest of them out today, so hopefully I will have more pics up by tomorrow.  The next time I paint a unit of Hunters I will take step-by-step pictures so you all can see my process.  I will be finishing up the sculpting on my Thunder Wolves after this unit, so it might be a couple of weeks before the step-by-step pics are up.
Here are some more pics at different angles:

Music Is My Motivator... song of the week

This week I was going to post something heavy again like Slipknot or an old school Deftones song, but I decided against it.  I have been hearing this particular song all week at the perfect moments, and it has put me in a good mood every time.  Every time I was in a bit of a slump I would either turn the station and it would just be starting, or it would randomly come on as soon as I would get the urge to hear it.  This morning I turned on my Pandora radio and thought "it would be awesome if The Good Life came on", and guess what the first song to play was, The Freakin' Good Life.  So I have to post One Republic's "The Good Life" as my Song Of The Week.  The video is really awesome as well.  I like how they used stop motion and a crap ton of pictures to make it, it's pretty damn amazing.  I usually try to listen to this one when I don't feel 100% and try to think positive about things, it really makes me feel great.  I hope I can pass this on to all of you, and as always I hope you enjoy it.

.....P.S.  I also added all of my Music Is My Motivator songs on their own page, the link can be found just under my followers.  This way you can see them all at once and listen to your favorites over and over.  I will tag all future Music Is My Motivator posts there as well.
