Erik Morkai's Great Company

I wanted to take the time to go over the army list I am using in our Planetary Empire's campaign.  My list has two very prominent themes to it: The first is the large amount of scouts, and the second is the duplication of certain units (representing the two heads of Morkai, The Deathwolf).
I went with a high number of scouts due to the description of Erik in the codex.  I run one unit as a combat/tank hunting unit, and the other as a combat/anti-troop unit.  The tank hunting unit is armed with a meltagun, and the anti-troop unit is armed with a flamer.  Both units have one member with the Mark of the Wulfen.  These units are awesome because, when held in reserve, most of the time they come in on any table edge you want.  When used properly, this is quite devastating.
The representation of Morkai was something I fell upon when adding the Vindicators.  I have always liked the theory of having two Vindicators in a Space Marine army.  One Vindicator is scary, but two is a full on nightmare.  I then thought it would be a good idea to duplicate some other units to represent the two heads of Morkai.  I ended up with a main force of  2x 10 man units of scouts, 2x Land Speeder Typhoon's, 2x Vindicators, and 2x 10 man units of Grey Hunters.  I have other units in the army as support, but this is the main force.

Here is my 2,000 pt. list:

Erik Morkai: (counts as Wolf Priest)  -145 pts.- Wolftooth Necklace, Runic Armor, Wolf Tail Talisman, & Saga of the Hunter.
*I use Erik as a Wolf Priest so I could give him Saga of the Hunter*

10 Wolf Scouts: (Erik's Bodyguard) -170 pts.- Flamer & Mark of the Wulfen

Herren Ijungeld, The Fury of Fenris: (Rune Priest) -115 pts.- Wolftooth Necklace, Wolf Tail Talisman, Living Lightning, & Jaws of the Worl Wolf.

5 Grey Hunters: (Herren's Bodyguard) -140 pts.- Meltagun, Powerfist, & Rhino.

10 Wolf Scouts: -175 pts.-  Meltagun & Mark of the Wulfen.

10 Grey Hunters: -215 pts.-  2x Meltaguns, Powerfist, & Drop Pod.

10 Grey Hunters: -210 pts.- Flamer, Meltagun, Powerfist, & Rhino.

Landspeeder Typhoon: -100 pts.-  Multi-Melta.

Landspeeder Typhoon: -100 pts.-  Multi-Melta.

Vindicator: (Freki) -125 pts.-  Siege Shield.

Vindicator: (Geri) -125 pts.-  Siege Shield.

5 Long Fangs: -130 pts.-  4x Missle Launchers, Leader w Power Weapon.

3 Thunderwolves: -250 pts.-  1x Powerfist, 2x Storm Shields, & 3x Meltabombs.

                                                                                                                               Total:   2000 pts.

As I paint this army, I will most likely name each unit accordingly.  I have a couple of reserve options that I might utilize if certain aspects of this list don't perform as I would like.  For now it has held up quite well, the only problems have been "user error".  I will be posting updates on production progress, as well as, tactica for this list.

As always,

Thanks for tuning in,

For the Allfather, For Russ, For Fenris !!!!

Way back in the vaults of time I was part of a campaign known as "The Eye of Terror".  During this time I represented the Craftworld of Ulthwe.  Although I enjoyed shredding through opponents in true Eldar fashion, I was always drawn to the Space Wolves that were featured in that Codex.  The Codex: Eye of Terror featured the long lost 13th Company, and they were pretty brutal.  I read the background on this chapter and instantly felt at home, I thought their anti-authoritarian viking nature was just awesome!  I didn't get the chance to build a Space Wolves army due to the chaotic requirements of everyday life, but the army had always had a special place in my hobbyist heart.
When the new Codex was released I knew it was something I had to dive into.  After reading through the Codex (paying special attention to the Wolf Lords section) I decided to make a 1750 pt list for every Wolf Lord based off of their Fluff.  I was immediately drawn to my Erik Morkai list so, needless to say, that is the list I chose to start with.

Here is the test model I painted for my Erik Morkai Space Wolves:

I based all of the models with heavy city debris.  I haven't built a city based army yet so I figured this was the army to do it with.  I will be posting my progress on this army as I build and paint it.

Thanks for tuning in,

Back from the Void

First off I would like to apologize for the long absence from my posts.  I have been overwhelmed with work and family life and that has caused me to neglect my blog.  I have been doing a lot of hobbying, and have recently joined a planetary empires campaign with my gaming group, so posts should be more frequent.
As of now I am currently painting an FSA fleet for my friend Romeo, when that's finished I will move on to my Space Wolves.  To hold you over until then here are some pictures of the completed models for the =][= Munda warband I was working on.

They ended up having very good character and individuality.

Here are some close up pictures

I will be posting some more pictures soon.

As Always, Thanks For Tuning in!!
