=I=Munda !!!!!! Take Two

So my fears were confirmed, the proportions of my first attempt were way off.  I decided to cut the head off of the Inquisitor and replace it with an Eldar head (this is fitting since my Inquisitor will be assisted by an Eldar Warlock).  I decided to make the mask look a little more Eldar-ish because I am going to equip him with a custom Ghosthelm.  Were have written rules that allows Radical Inquisitors to take certain equipment from the Xenos list that they are accompanied by.  I also armed him with a modified Shuriken pistol, I went with a "Luger Style" handle (it fit with the old sword handle).  I figured that the weapons would have to be modified for a human to use them.  I am still working on the fluff for why this unlikely alliance happened, I will post that when I finish it up...... until then, here are some pics ....

This is still in progress and I am planning on adding a hood like the first attempt.

=I=Munda !!!!!!

So I've been assisting my cousin Bill with a solid set of rules for =I=munda.  I have been pretty stoked with the progress so far and it's getting closer and closer to completion.  We have lists for Ordo Xenos, Ordo Malleus, and Ordo Hereticus.  He is now working on some Chaos warband rules and they are pretty awesome.  I decided to start on my Inquisitor so I will be ready when it comes time to playtest.  I plan on running a Radical Ordo Xenos Inquisitor with some Eldar influence.  Here are some WIP pics ...

I know this shot makes him look a bit like a Dwarf, but it's the angle.  He looks better in person.

I still have some work to do on him, but overall I am liking the progress so far.  I will have some updates here in a couple days.

Thanks again for tuning in ....

Coming to a close ....

The models are packed up and ready for shipment.  In my opinion they look great.  I hope Zain will be pleased with them. Here are some completed pics.

On a side note, I went down to Empire games today and got a few games in.  It has been awhile since I played, and it really made me want to do some more battle reports.  I would like to get two in a month, but I will try to get at least one a month in.  Well thanks again for tuning in .....

Ynnead Rising !!!! ... almost finished

Well I finished all the detail work last night, and I am going to be painting the highlights this evening.  I really like the way this is all coming together.  I will seal the minis when I am finished with the highlights, then I will gloss varnish all the stones.  That is my favorite part of painting Eldar.  The varnish just make the stones look stunning, and it really completes the overall appearance of the model.  Here are some updated pics ....

Ynnead Rising: UPDATE !!!!

So I haven't been moving as fast as I would like on my current project.  I really wanted to have all the highlights done by this evening, unfortunately work has hindered this.  I did however finish most of the details on my current project, I only have the Stones and Crystal to finish (I should have the crystals finished before bed time). Then the highlights will be applied and they will safely make there way back to Zain60 to tear up some opponents on the table top!!! here are some of the updated pics ......

I really like the way the canopies look on the black background, and when the highlights are applied they will stand out even better.  The Spirit Stones will bring these guys to life even more as well.   I will have another update in a couple of days ..... until then.....

Thanks for tuning in  .....

Ynnead Rising !!!!

So my friend Zain60 contacted me to paint some more of his Ynnead Craftworld tanks this week.  I was excited because I had a blast painting the first round of Serpents.  (If you haven't seen them here are some pics.....)

This time around he asked me to paint two Fire Prisms and Two Vypers.  The scheme on these will be a reverse of the Serpents.  They will predominately black, with bone accents.  I just finished assembling and base coating all four vehicles and can't wait to start detailing (because that's the step when a model comes to life).  Here are some picks of the basic base coats ....

I am going to paint all the spirit stones red, and add some bone accents to the body (just like the Black accents in the Serpent pics above).  I think they will look really sharp all fielded together.  I will post more pics of the progress in a couple of days.

Thanks for tuning in,

More Fuegan!!!!

Last night I finished painting the bone sections on Fuegan.  I like how they turned out.  I started with a base coat of 30/70 Snakebite Leather/Bleached Bone and then progressively added Skull white to the mix as I highlighted it.  I can't wait for this to be finished cause i like how it is coming along.  Tonight I hope to highlight all the black areas and get the gems finished.  Here are some pics of the progress.

Thanks again for tuning in!

Too Long !!!!!!!

Too long has it been since my last post!  My sincerest apologies go out to all of my readers.  I have trying to keep my head above water, and unfortunately my hobby has suffered.  I do have another installment to the "Assault on Veridian V." It just needs a quick run through in Photoshop.  I have also been painting some Second edition Fire Dragons for my good friend Kyle. Below are some "In Progress" photos of Fuegan, I will post further pics of the progress and some of his brethren.  I will try to kick things in gear and post more frequently, again I am sorry for the delay between posts.

This is the model I am currently painting.  I have finished the red armor and turquoise accents.  I have applied the base coat (30/70 mix of Snakebite Leather/Bleached Bone) on the gun and other details, they will be blended all the way up to Skull White.  The armor was started with a shade of 30/70 mix of Chaos Black/Red Gore.  I then applied a coat of Red Gore.  I slowly mixed in small amounts of Blood Red to help blend the layers better.  To achieve it I kept the paint very watered down.  When I got to Blood Red I added small amounts of Blazing Orange until I was using only Blazing Orange.  The Final two highlights were accomplished by adding a bit of Sunburst Yellow to the Blazing Orange.  In all there are around 10 to 12 highlights.  The turquoise accents are Hawk Turquoise blended up to a mix of 80/20 Skull White/Hawk Turquoise.

I will post more progress as it comes along, I hope you enjoy the pics...... and as always, Thanks for tuning in!!!
